Sailing

The Varne Water Sports & Supporters Club offers an impressive location for Dinghy sailing with its own slipway leading to a gently shelving sandy beach.

With an east facing beach our launching area is protected from the prevailing SW winds. We have arguably the best site for safe launch and recovery on the Kent coast. Giving the novice sailor a better chance of success and more days on the water. With ample parking close to the beach rigging is less of a chore. Launching in shallow water over sand makes for the simplest launch with little chance of damage to boat and crew.

Sailing within the protected bay gives a vast amount of room for everybody to play and enjoy themselves and the chance of continuing to sail when the wind is stronger.

The Club offers changing facilities with hot showers, a galley, an active bar with a warm and friendly atmosphere, we can also offer dinghy storage in our boat compound for £40/ year.

We  have our two  Topper Topaz dinghies kindly donated to the club from the very nice people at Magnox.
